10. STEVE IRWIN

Like no one saw this one coming. Still Steve (in his own unique way) entertained and educated millions. A fatal “accident” involving a stingray shortly after this photo was taken in 2006 Mr. Irwin was taken from us forever but his legacy is continued through his daughter Bindi.

9. ELVIS PRESLEY

The King’s untimely death in 1977 left a lot of unanswered questions. Found dead from heart problems caused from abuse of prescription drugs, Presley will always be known as the King of Rock ‘n Roll. Below is the last known photo of Elvis… I would like it noted that I did NOT make a joke about there possibly being a bucket of chicken in the front seat.

8. WES MANTOOTH

This is the last known photograph of the last known remaining tiger in Indonesia. Apparently he was killed and eaten by a local villager. We hope that this was NOT the last tiger left in that region- but probably so. Since everyone else in this list had I name, I decided to name this tiger Wes…. Wes Mantooth, the world hardly knew you.

7. ADOLF HITLER

Taken mere hours with the Russian army just a couple of hundred yards away, this is the last known photograph of Hitler (If you discount my claims that my H.S. shop teacher was in fact Der Fuhrer in hiding). Shortly after this photo was taken, Hitler retired to his bunker, watched his new wife- Ava die from a suicide pill and then put a gun to his own head. Most people honeymoon in Niagara.

6. MARK TWAIN (SAMUEL CLEMENS)

The American author and humorist was best known for his book Tom Sawyer and his love of the Mississippi river. While there are plenty of accomplished writers in the world, this guy wrote classics on par with Dickens. To know there was any sort of photo made of the man is impressive, to take into account this is the last known is more so. You are welcome.

5.THE RMS TITANIC

One of the most memorable tragedies in history, the sinking of the Titanic in 1912 shocked the world. The phrase “Not even God could sink her” just begged for it to happen. (I would like to go on record as saying “Not even God could give me a million dollars”) A little known fact is that out of all the passengers that died that cold night, there were nearly twice as many third class passengers that died than first and second classes combined. The reason? Locked gates to keep third class passengers form getting into the higher (and closer to the lifeboats) second class and third class berthing areas.

4. MICHAEL JACKSON

Yes, the King of Pop is dead as well. I’m sure you’ve heard something about it at some point. This is one of the few remaining “last known” photos. Honestly it’s been doctored and could have been taken after his death even… who knows?

3. HEATH LEDGER

The world lost one of it’s most brilliant actors with the prescription drug overdose of Heath Ledger in 2008. Not many actors can star as a gay cowboy or twisted villain and not be typecast; Ledger could. He will be sorely missed.

When an icon passes the shock wave reverberates through the decades. The loss of cultural icon Marilyn Monroe was a tragedy beyond measure. Who knows what could have been accomplished by the women had she lived? Generally I avoid pictures of Ms. Monroe… falling in love with a dead woman is pretty fruitless, even for me.

There was some controversy to this photo, as it was thought to NOT be the last picture of the assassinated president. However do some clever investigative stuff that I don’t really get (because I honestly don’t care) this is the last known picture of Abraham Lincoln.

Saw this in Lifehacker and thought I should share it here.Apple just released iOS4 for the iPhone and iPod touch, and now that you’ve downloaded and upgraded to the much-hyped iDevice update, here’s a look at the new shortcuts, settings, and features you’ll need to know—and want to use.

The New Shortcuts

On a little device with just one button and no major forms of interaction beyond tapping a screen, shortcuts can be serious timesavers. Here are the new shortcuts in iOS4 you’ll want to know:

• Hold then drag-and-drop to create app folders:You can now create folders to store and organize the apps on your iPhone’s home screen, particularly handy if you’re a bit of an app junkie. To create a folder, tap and hold any icon on the home screen until they all start wiggling. Then drag and drop any application on top of another to create a folder with those apps together.
• Double-tap home for quick app switching: The quick app switching shortcut pulls up your most recently opened applications whenever you double-tap the home button. Then just tap on any app you want to quickly switch to it without going back to the home screen. Note: You’ll need at least an iPhone 3GS or later generation iPod touch to use multitasking.

• Hold to kill background apps: Currently in iOS4, if an application supports multitasking, it’ll run in the background by default—kind of a strange choice, considering Apple asks you to confirm push notifications for apps. What this means is that as more apps start supporting background processing, you may end up with a ton of apps running in the background that you don’t really need or want running. To remove an application from running in the background, just pull up your quick switch drawer (double-tap the home button), then tap and hold on an app (like you do when you want to delete an app from the home screen until you see a red minus sign (-) on the corner of the app’s icon. Tap it to kill the app.
• Swipe to the left in the app drawer for iPod controls: For some quick app-switching access to simple iPod controls, double-click the home button to bring up the app switcher, then swipe to the left for pared down iPod controls. Note: 3GS and above only.

The New Features You’ll Want to Use

These are the handy new iOS4 in-app features you’ll want to get familiar with:

• 
• Unified inbox: If you access multiple email accounts from your phone but you’d prefer to be able to read through them in one unified stream, Mobile Mail now has a unified “All Inboxes” feature that does just that.
• Mail Archives Rather than Deletes Gmail Messages: The whole archive vs. delete problem with Gmail on the iPhone has always been a bit annoying. In iOS4, the swipe-to-delete shortcut and regular old mailbox management defaults to Archive rather than Delete.
• Name your new playlists: For years, creating new playlists on an iPod created a default “On-the-Go” playlist that you could later sync to your computer and rename from there. Now you can just create and name a proper playlist each time (rather than “On-the-Go 1″, “On-the-Go 2″, etc.).
• Built-in spellchecker: The new spellchecker introduces those oh-so-familiar red underlines for words that your device thinks you’ve misspelled. That’s nice to have, but even better, tapping on a misspelled word will suggest proper spellings.
• Smart links for dates: A lot of calendar events start off as email conversations. Now when you get an email with a date and time in it, Mobile Mail turns it into a link that can create a quick event in your Calendar and save the hassle of manually entering in that date that’s right in front of you. It’ll even automatically use the email’s subject as the event title. Handy!
• Bluetooth keyboard pairing: One of the things that’s made the iPad extremely handy for writers is that you can pair it with an external Bluetooth keyboard for fast, hardware-keyboard typing. To pair a keyboard, go to Settings -> General -> Bluetooth, make sure it’s turned on, then walk through the normal discovery/pairing process.Note: Bluetooth keyboards are not supported on 3G and earlier devices.

New Settings You Should Know

Now that you’ve learned the need-to-know shortcuts and features, here’s a quick peek at the settings you should know:

• Threaded email: Mobile Mail now has a Gmail-like threaded email option to keep related email messages close together. This feature was actually enabled by default when I upgraded, but just in case, you can find it by going to Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars and making sure Organize By Thread is toggled to the On position.
• Turn off your cell data: Now that AT&T’s moving toward metered data plans, you may have times that you get close enough to your limit where your best course of action will be to turn off your cellular data connection altogether rather than flirt with an extra $15 charge you don’t need. To turn it off, go to Settings -> General -> Network and toggle Cellular Data to the off position.
• Change your home screen wallpaper: Okay, this one’s mostly for eye candy, but if you always ached for some personality in your home screen background, fire up Settings -> Wallpaper, pick an image you want to use, and set it as your home screen wallpaper.Note: We can’t really imagine what possible reason there is for this one, but you can’t set a wallpaper for the home screen on 3G or first generation iPhones.Photo via Gizmodo
• Strong alphanumeric lock codes: A few months back we showed you how to add an alphanumeric passcode lock to your iPhone. Now to do the same, all you’ve got to do is go to Settings -> General -> Passcode Lock, toggle Simple Passcode to off, and enter your preferred alphanumeric pass.
• Tethering: Okay, you’ll have to pay AT&T a whopping $20 a month for the privilege of tethering, but at least it’s finally an option. To turn it on, head to Settings -> General -> Network -> Internet Tethering.
• Tweak your keyboard layout: If you prefer a different keyboard layout from the standard QWERTY, head to Settings -> General -> Keyboard -> International Keyboards -> English to try out an alternative layout for your software or connected hardware keyboard.

•Kinectimals lets you train and play with 20 different virtual cats, including a lion, cheetah and tiger.

•Joyride, a racing game, lets players use their hands to hold an imaginary steering wheel — pull your hands toward you and push back out for an acceleration boost — and their bodies to execute jumps and tricks. 

.

•Kinect Sports has six activities including boxing, bowling, beach volleyball, track and field, soccer and table tennis. To serve a volleyball, you mimic the real motion; in soccer, you can kick the ball or do a header. 

.

•Kinect Adventures includes a river-raft time trial and obstacle course, playable by up to four players. On the raft, playing as a duo, you and a partner must lean one way or another to steer. Jumping helps the raft reach special areas for extra points.

•Dance Central, in development by MTV Games, brings a So You Think You Can Dance experience home.

•Star Wars characters and iconic Disney favorites will be featured in separate new games being developed at Microsoft in conjunction with LucasArts and Disney.

Bollywood siren Bipasha Basu has once again hit the headlines for her hot and bold move. Setting the temperature soaring high, Bipasha goes topless with Vivek Oberoi in the new and hot New York Lotto Commercial. However, this is not a recent project, she had done this in the early days of her career. The ad shows Bipasha Basu’s hot body in a luminous light.

If reports are to be believed, Bipasha had done this ad in 1999 when she was modelling for Ford Modelling Agency in New York. The mystery remains answered as to why this ad has surfaced now.

None of the stars have come up with an official statement yet.

The ad seems to be very aesthetically shot and is definitely shot in India.

As this ad creates ripples in the net lets wait and watch whether such things are going to become a norm in today’s Ad world.

You are worried if all these factors would affect your performance and spoil the chance. Now don’t take all this to your nerves, there are ways to excel even in the hardest of all situations.

Self-confidence should be your word on the day of audition. Nothing can boost up our energy levels than a radiating self confidence. If you’re feeling low and think that others are far better, then you would probably end in ruins. The best thing to boost your self confidence is taking the audition in a light manner. Never think that this is a ‘do or die’ job. So even if you see chances of losing it, you won’t be shattered. Hope for the better tomorrow. Be positive in your attitude towards your skills and luck.

Now self confidence should not be mistaken with over confidence. It would affect your performance not in the right way. Make sure that you believe in yourself and at the same time in others too. Be unique in your way of presentation but try not to keep an air of it.

Don’t forget first impression is the best and this cannot be thwarted away as a cliché. So when you are preparing for the auditions, plan well about your dress and it would be better to have a dress rehearsal beforehand. Try not to be very casual and carefree.

Try being yourself and everything else will come naturally. If you know that there would be cameras to pick up your performance, you should be prepared to manage that too. After you have finished your performance, it is always good to thank the judges with a smile. This contributes in assessing your basic etiquette.

India’s quest for justice for its most wounding terror attack culminated on Monday with a special court pronouncing death sentence to the lone surviving Pakistani gunman of 26/11 Mumbai attack Ajmal Amir Kasab for the carnage that left 166 people dead.

Two hundred and seventy-one working days, 654 witnesses, 3,192 pages of evidence and several dramatic twists and turns later the 26/11 terror siege of Mumbai which unleashed death and devastation in Mumbai has finally winded up.

“Pakistan ke LeT se milkar saajish ki uske liye maut, khoon kiya uske liye maut aur Bharat Sarkar ke khilaf jung chheda uske liye maut… Aapko marte dam tak sazayen maut di jayegi .”…these were the words uttered by Justice ML Tahaliyani while pronouncing death sentence to Kasab.

Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi, Hafiz Saeed and Abu Hamza were also accused of using a complex network of agents and killers to mastermind a terror attack that shocked the world.

Kasab, 23, the lone Pakistani captured alive during the Mumbai carnage, was held guilty under nine Indian laws for murder, waging war on India and a litany of other crimes. His conviction was based on CCTV footage showing him striding across the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus with an AK-47 and a backpack.

The process of sentencing will begin Tuesday.

Almost 18 months later, survivors and family members of those who were killed in Mumbai terrorist attack got justice. According to many, his death is the only way to pay tribute to those policemen who laid their lives fighting the terrorists.
