Veer- A Flop Show ??

As I grabbed my seat in the theatre I happened to catch the following on the screen, “VEER- AN ANIL SHARMA FILM”. It made me wonder if I was about to witness the masterpiece of the Millenium, only to be utterly disappointed at the end.
The story is based in the 19th century and tells the tale of the Pindari clan who are betrayed and removed from their land by the villain king played by Jackie Shroff. Now as you would guess the fight between them goes on for decades. Now the Pindaris have all their hope pinged on Salman Khan who (in his Brad Pitt like looks) plays VEER. What follows are the usual and expected twists of him falling for Zarine Khan, who happens to be the daughter of the villain king, who now has the support of the “Goras”. This is followed by a lot of fight sequences with a lot of shouting (reminding you of Sunny Deol) and bloodbath sandwithched between some ordinary song sequences. As one would expect the movie ends with the Good triumphing over the Evil and Love blooming in the end.
Although the histrionics of Salman, Zarine and Mithun Chakravarty is worth talking about there is still a lack of charisma in the movie. The poor script and shoddy direction totally spell doom for the movie. As for the ratings I’d give it 2 stars out of five. It makes one ponder why on earth someone like Salman Khan and THE Anil Sharma come together to make a formulaic story which is embarrassingly clichéd.
My verdict? – Only recommended for Hardcore Salman fans(This may the last time you’ll catch the aging star in his shirtless avatar)!!
Before I leave , here is a quote by Rajeev Masand “From Cameron’s Pandora to Anil Sharma’s Pindari, we’ve come a long way baby!”

enjoy your sense of humour catching overall story and actor performance…
Sallu CRaze is ok.. dare to tell that man to any of his fans,
