Spell bound - that's what we promise you would be at the MCC annual cultural fest - Cul-Ah '09. Sixty is the magic number this time. Enthusiastic and talented students from about 60 colleges across the nation will leave the audience spell bound with their performances in more than 60 events spanning over three days. While the competition is going to be fiercer and tougher than ever with thousands of energetic and spirited students vying for the rolling trophy, the fun quotient is sure to be steeply high. The wide variety on the platter of Cul-ah '09 is what makes it appetizing and an event that a vast proportion of students look ahead to. There are art events that would unveil the artists in the participants, Cacophonics (music events) to test the music nerve, Twinkle toes (dancing events) to see them set the dance floor on fire, Big Mouth ( public speaking events) for them to cross the daggers of words, Scribe(literary events) to bring out the wit, Quizard(quizzes) to turn them quizzical and finally, Beauty and the Feast (fashion and food events) to roll out delicacies that your eyes and palate would relish equally. A R Rehman has won the Golden Globe and three Oscar nominations this year for his musical brilliance and has compelled the other side of the world to sit up and notice that Indians can beat them in their own game. With such strong inspiration to drive, Cul-Ah brings to you Western electric competition, aptly called "Catapult" that will bring out the best in rock music among the participants. The three day fest would end in style with the performance of Bhoomi, MCC's headlining rock band that is all set to mark its presence in the international music realm with their forthcoming album, produced by Grammy- nominated producer Neil Kernon.
