Hip Hop dance refers to dance styles primarily performed to hip-hop music or that have evolved as part of hip-hop culture. It includes a wide range of styles notably breaking, locking, and popping which were created in the 1970s and made popular by dance crews in the United States.

Hip-Hop dance from other forms of dance is that it is often free style in nature and hip-hop dance crews often engage in freestyle dance competitions, freestyling, and battles are identifiers of this style. Hip-hop dance can be a form of entertainment or a hobby.

Popping- Popping is a style thats basics have become the roots for many other hip hop styles. This style involves flexing certain parts of the body creating hits or stops. The style uses a lot of isolation of different parts through out the body. Tracing and waving is another aspect of popping that give the illusion that there is something moving through you.
Locking -Locking is a fun and grooving style that uses a lot of attitude. It's a very traditional style that actually originated to funk music, not hip hop. It involves "locking" certain parts of the body while the rest is moving.
B-Boying -This is a very acrobatic and physically demanding dance style. Which is footwork standing up that usually sets you into floor moves, If this style is one you want to learn then find classes in your area that teach this style, look up videos online, and look up more information online. Oh, and don't forget to practice!
